By: Róheim, Géza.
Abstract
Róheim is concerned in this paper with the Aranda's supposed lack of knowledge of physical paternity. The author summarizes the evidence, discusses the published findings of others on the subject, discusses a similar question among the Trobriand Islanders, and concludes that the Aranda do understand the role of the male in procreation.
