Abstract
This collection of Warao folk tales (De-Nobo) was gathered in a period of five weeks in 1954; the main informant was the chief-priest of the Winikina Warao who inhabit the central part of the Orinoco Delta in Venezuela. Each story is presented in the Warao language (transcribed phonemically) and followed by the English translation of Dr. Henry Osborn. The tales are divided into sections dealing with various subjects such as: Tales of Origin, Tales of Men and Women, Tales of Animals, Tales of Enemies, etc. Various versions of the same tale are often given.
