Abstract
Cieza de León was a soldier who was with one of the early Spanish parties in Peru. The first part of his Chronicle is essentially a record of his travels in the Inka Empire between Quito in Ecuador and Cuzco. It contains general descriptions of the country and some material on Inka society and culture. (See document 13, this file for the second part of this work.)
