The author of this article was prevented from proofreading it by his death on June 2nd, 1928 He was born in 1848 In 1875 he went to Peru as an engineer He lived in Peru for almost 50 years His archaeological collections were bought by the Peruvian Government and set up in a museum in Chiclayo This museum is named after Brüning Duplicate specimens from this museum may also be found in the Museum für Völkerkunde at Hamburg This source has been reprocessed from the manuscript translation made earlier by A. M. Nagler The text figures have been reproduced for the files.
