Abstract
This monograph is a study in the field of culture and personality dealing with urbanization and its effect on socialization and personality between rural (i.e. tribal) and urban Goajiro living in the settlement of Barrio Ziruma. Much of the data contained in this study compares and contrasts child training practices as a key factor in personality development in the two areas mentioned above. The data used in this work were obtained from both rural and urban informants, supplemented by the author's own field observations, and the writings of other authors in the field of personality development. Further corroboration of Watson's results were obtained from the analysis of Rorschack and TAT tests of the subjects by an independent psychologist.
