Abstract
This study describes major bio-physical features of Russia, with particular focus on topography, climate, forest cover, river basins, and miral deposits. These features are regarded as central to understanding the history of Russia’s cities, major agricultural areas, unevenly distributed industries, and constitutionally-enshrined ethnic republics and autonomous regions.
