This source deals with all aspects of agriculture in the Soviet Union. The natural environment, government supervision, and agricultural policies are discussed. The author describes the farm system (collective farms, state farms, machine tractor stations), including crops grown, practices, organization, and management. There are chapters on the distribution and consumption of agricultural products within the Soviet Union, foreign trade, and the reconstruction program of the Soviet Union after World War II. Numerous tables supplement the text.
