Abstract
This study is concerned with the social functions of arts, mainly in the form of poetry, songs, dances, bodily decoration and tatoos, among the Ifaluk of Woleai Region, Federated Republics of Micronesia. It argues that these arts tend to be simple and crude but express the sentiments of ordinary Ifalukian men, women and children.
