AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This monograph is on leadership and cultural change in Belau under varying conditions of cultural contact with other societies. The author concentrates on the change from traditional modes and patterns of leadership to new and emergent ones, including the stresses and strains observable under such conditions (p. 15). As background material for this study Force provides an excellent summary of Belau culture which the reader should find useful for a general overview of the society.
