Abstract
This source deals mainly with the trade relations of the Manus and neighboring Usiai and Matankor peoples. Also discussed are: the articles traded, the place of money (i.e., shell money and dogs' teeth) and barter in exchange transactions, and the influence of ceremonial payments between families upon trade.
