Abstract
Malinowski examines the function of myth among the Trobrianders in this monograph. The role of myth in sanctioning the existing socio-political structure is discussed. The relationship of magic to insecurity is examined in detail. In short, Malinowski relates myth and magic to the social, political, and economic structure of the Trobriand Islands.
