This second volume of a foundational Dutch language ethnography of the Tobelo continues a discussion of Tobelorese religion, focusing on funeral and mourning rituals, fetishes, amulets, and divination. Fetishes are used to protect crops from theft. The author also describes Tobelorese dwellings, agriculture, fishing, boats, musical instruments and songs, and includes a transcription of 23 riddles and 27 songs.
