By: Platenkamp, Jos. D. M..

AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This critical look at Tobelo oral traditions and recorded myths aims to enhance historical understanding of interactions with neighboring ethnic groups and the dynamics of their subjugation by more powerful polities that ruled the area at times in the past. The author finds the traditional histories to be important conveyors of information on Tobelo migration, religious practices, subsistence systems, and ethnic identity.
