Abstract
Benedict Sandin presents a sketch of the Iban's way of life from cradle to grave in the pre-contact traditional culture of his people (p. 3). Some of the salient features of Iban ethnography discussed in the text refer to: pregnancy and childbirth, childhood ceremonies related to naming and first bathing, socialization processes, puberty, marriage, in-law relationships, etiquette, weaving, farming, recreation, sickness, and death.
