AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
Approximately half of the article deals with a generalized account of Iban family and kinship structure which duplicates information already available in 15: Freeman. Consequently these sections (pp. 1-24, 43-44) have not been included. The remainder contains a detailed discussion of Iban kinship terminology, and the correlation between termionology and patterns of behavior. The discussion is supplemented with charts and tables.
