AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
Dumia has written a summary of the history and culture of the Ifugao. This is a good introduction to Ifugao culture and history. Little about Ifugao culture is presented here that cannot be obtained in greater depth from other sources in the file, however the historical overview presented here is not found elsewhere in the file, especially the Spanish and Japanese occupation periods. Dumia is an Ifugao native and gives a even-handed treatment of Ifugao history and their relationship with outsiders--perhaps too even handed an approach. The book includes 20 pages of photographs from the 1910s and 1960s.
