Abstract
This is a brief history of the Pima Indians, a tribal group now closely affiliated with the Papago, and generally treated as one unit (Pima-Papago) under the designation 'O'Odham'. The material presented here discusses the prehistory of these people, their culture in 1700, the Hispanic Period form 1694-1853, and the American Period from 1853 to the present (ca. 1980s).
