Abstract
Since this book is a condensation of the material appearing in 2: Lewis, only Chapter 8, 'The Changing Village,' has been processed. Lewis examines some of the major changes in the village as revealed by his restudy in 1956, thus supplementing his original work done in 1943. Of particular interest is the discussion of village participation in the bracero movement (temporary employment of agricultural workers in the United States) and its effecs.
