Abstract
This is a study of the fiesta system in the predominantly mestizo town of Tzintzuntzan. Only references to Tarascan practices have been indexed for content—mainly interactions with the adjoining community of El Ojo (de Agua), but also including the lakeshore communities to the west, Ichupio, Tarerio, and Ucasanástacua (collectively referred to as "La Vuelta").

- Much of the text in this source was zeroed out because it focused largely on the mestizo population and culture and only occasionally mentions Tarascan people. It was not clear to the indexer the extent to which the fiesta complex is shared by Tarascans. Although the Tarascans do celebrate fiestas and do particpate in some of the mestizo fiestas, it is not clear to the indexer that general descriptions of fiesta life include the indigenos population. Only where explicit references in the text are made to Tarascans is the material indexed.
