Abstract
This source deals with data on the location of the Mescalero from the date of their first identified appearance in historical documents (1653) until 1874 when they were settled at Fort Stanton. The data are drawn from secondary sources, primarily from reports written by Spanish and U. S. governmental and military personnel. In addition, the source contain a slight amount of information on contact events (i.e., skirmishes and attempts to settle the Mescalero), but it contains no information on the cultural style of the people.
