California folklore quarterly • 4 • Published In 1945 • Pages: 343-350
By: Cannon, M. Hamlin.
Abstract
This source—intended as a historical summary of Mormon beliefs about angels and spirits—discusses the difference between the two, and recounts some episodes of spirit possession and speaking in tongues. The author concludes that as the Church grew in strength, the belief in evil spirits waned.
