Abstract
This is an excellent analysis of the ways in which belief in witchcraft and witchcraft accusations function in the Western Apache Cibecue community. The author reviews the literature on witchcraft, sketches the Western Apache historical/geographical and economic environment, and discusses the dynamics of kin and non-kin relations to create an intelligible setting for his study of the conceptualization and uses of witchcraft.
