AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This source deals primarily with property rights in land held by the Havasupai. The author, an ethnologist who did fieldwork in this area, considers the various rights of the individual, extended family, and community to land and its produce end, in particular discusses the inheritance system. Some comments are offered on theories regarding clan formation in relation to inheritance and residence which were advocated by Spier.
