Abstract
This document describes some of the plants used by the Yuki Indians of Round Valley, California, primarily in terms of their use as medicines, and foods, but with application to other aspects of the culture (i.e., in basketry, use for arrows, pipes, etc.). The author describes the scientific binominal for each plant used, its native name, and methods of preparing the plant as a food stuff or as medicine. Curtin used native informants to obtain his information and was assisted in the field by Margaret C. Irwin, a former staff member of the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
