Abstract
In this document Kniffen presents a cross section of Pomo material culture, especially as it reflects the variations in natural resources and conditions relevant to the three major California groups discussed in this work -- the Clear Lake, Russian River , and coastal Southwestern Pomo. The author describes the yearly cycle of economic activities for each group, the location of their villages, population density, political boundaries, trade relations, and land ownership. Three locational maps are presented in the text.
