Based on fieldwork from 1947-1948, this is a study of the seasonal migrations of the Wind River Arapaho. It includes observational descriptions of dwellings, annual economic activities, income, and travel patterns. According to the author’s observations though the Arapaho have changed means of transport and the details of economic activities have changed, they remain nomadic and furthermore, the author concludes, that the high value placed on nomadism interferes with economic development. The author’s English is occasionally difficult to follow.
