This highly focused article provides a brief account of Fox land purchases in Tama, Iowa between 1857 and 1905. Information on the Fox's civil and territorial status and their treatment by the U.S. government is given where necessary to an understanding of their land ownership. Ward also supplies a table listing purchases with information as to location, size and price paid.
