Abstract
This dissertation is a study of economic development, leadership and decision making on the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in Florida. The economic development consisted of the introduction of an income producing cattle program on the reservation. The role of federal and state agencies in the program is analyzed, as is the effect of the program on the economy and politics of the reservation. This source also considers decision making at Big Cypress, and the people's attitudes toward their leaders.
