Abstract
This monograph describes Seneca splint basketry with reference to its techniques, forms, and functions, and its relation to basketry of other native American groups. Mentioned briefly is the influence of trade on Seneca basketry. Lismer points out that Seneca basketry is one instance of a widespread industry; its simple forms and techniques appear to be related to the highly complex art of the Southeast and, perhaps, to that of South America.
