Abstract
This article presents an in-depth analysis of the patterns and processes of Cuban emigration to the United States including data on early nineteenth century migrations as well as those following the post-revolutionary period in Cuba after 1959. The authors discuss motivational factors for the migrations, settlement patterns in the United States, Cuban adaptation and acculturation to the host society, occupational mobility, discrimination, and education.
