This article presents a descriptive and interpretative account of the political impact of Cuban Americans at the local, county, and state levels of government, in south Florida. The author attempts to describe the nature of that impact and its historical evolution in terms of electoral participation, issues of concern to the new electorate and political culture. Although many aspects of Cuban American political behavior are discussed in this work, voting and political party affiliation are given special emphasis.
