AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This chapter explores change and continuity in the way racial categories in the USA were experienced and used in policy. It argues against Reagan era race policies which, building on narrow interpretation of some theories on racial categories, sought to construct a 'color-blind society.'
