Transactions of the American Philosophical Society, n.s.37 (4) • Published In 1947 • Pages: 379-492

By: Lips, Julius.

Abstract
This study, by a social anthropologist, is concerned primarily with the legal norms held by the Naskapi and their application. Special emphasis is given to the norms surrounding property, and valuable information from over 100 years ago has been drawn from the records of the Hudson's Bay Co. In addition, good material is given on the general economy of the group, as well as data on kinship and political organization.
