Abstract
This article was edited and put together by J. H. MacNeish, from the notes of Teit, an ethnologist who worked for the Tahltan tribal council for several years. The article contains much descriptive information on habitat, clothing, ornament, tranportation, and the life cycle of the group. Most of the material in the article refers to the Tahltan Indians, rather than the Kaska. Included is information from informants and reference to collections ranging back to the early nineteenth century, with National Museum Numbers in the text corresponding to numbered items in the end plates.
