Abstract
Richardson was the commander of one of the numerous searching parties sent out to discover the fate of Sir John Franklin's expedition. Richardson had only limited contact with the Copper Inuit and his chapter on the Central Inuit refers chiefly to the Mackenzie Inuit but is apparently intended to include the Copper Inuit as well.
