By: Osgood, Cornelius.
Abstract
In this one of three volumes reconstructing traditional Ingalik culture and society, Ogood supplements his mid-1930s fieldwork with a brief 1956 visit to focus on mental culture, defined as "ideas concerning human beings that have been communicated to one’s mind and of which one is conscious." The text is organized into sections dealing with ideas about the natural, social and spiritual worlds, adjustments between these worlds, and mythology.
