Abstract
This is a very brief survey of the culture history, foreign relations and economy of the Russianized Aleuts living on the Komandorskiy Islands (Bering and Medny Islands). The author compares and contrasts the life of the Aleuts as it existed in the early fur trade days before the Russian Revolution to its present status under the commune system. Despite the obvious bias on the part of the author in compiling his data, there is much incidental ethnographic information to be gleaned pertaining to clothing, house types, boats, population statistics, education (primarily under Soviet control), hunting and fishing
