By: Elliott, Henry Wood.
Abstract
A detailed study of the Pribilov or 'Seal' Islands. It includes a detailed analysis of the seal life and other fauna of the area, descriptions of the geography and flora, a history of the Russian American company and the Alaska Commercial Company with detailed tables of the economic aspects of the sealing operations, and descriptions of the life of the local inhabitants. Most of the ethnographic material has been included in a later 'popular' publication of the author (see 3: Elliott) and this later source was included and the present source used only for supplementary material.
