Abstract
The Corwin expedition was organized to explore the Arctic Ocean and to search for the lost ship Jeannette. Muir joined the expedition to study glaciation in the area. This volume is a collection of his letters, edited by William F. Badè. Muir spent about two weeks in the Aleutians at Unalaska and St. Paul, and Chapters I and II are his letters written from there. In addition to the material on the local inhabitants, he discusses the geography of the area in detail. The geographical data, however, is not included.
