AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This document consists of a selection of forty-five oral narratives collected among the Wolof people of the Republic of The Gambia, which were taped in the field by the author in 1973-1974, and translated into English in the form in which they appear in this work. Each tale is followed by a series of footnotes which provide some degree of cultural context for the stories themselves.
