AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This is a study of cultural change in Iran between 1962-1978, with particular reference to the BONEHS, which the author identifies as … 'peasant workteams responsible for specific sharecropped plots within landlord-owned villages' (p. 194). The major portion of this work deals with the history of these organizations, an analysis of their socioeconomic role in the villages, how BONEHS have changed since 1962 (the date of the introduction of land reforms to Iran), the operation of a typical BONEH, two types of BONEH transformations which have occurred by the mid-1970s, and the implications for Iranian agriculture suggested by these changes.
