AbstractBrief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This source, by an American Presbyterian missionary, is based on 15 years of residence among the Zulu. His observations cover such topics as clothing, houses, occupations, etc.; law and government; superstitions, etc.; marriage customs; character; history of American and European missions; geology; flora and fauna. Although Grout is given to occasional flights of missionary fervor, it does not seem to have seriously affected his observations.
