Abstract
Schultze, a zoologist at the University of Jena, based this thorough and comprehensive study on fieldwork done during a three-year stay in the area. The source includes portions on physical anthropology, linguistics and the folklore of the Nama, including the original texts. Hunting and food-raising are dealt with in detail, as is the life-cycle, acculturation, kinship and government. Also included are data on games, music, flora and fauna, and material culture.
