Abstract
Hutereau in this study gives a detailed histotrical account of the Azande nation complete with genealologies based on myth and legend and passed on by word of mouth as regards the earlier epochs and, in more recent times, from reports of travelers and scientists. Extensive footnotes elaborate on such details as the poison oracle and sorcery and point out occasional observers. Pages 140-246 deal with the Azande. With the exception of a few excerpts which provide information not supplied by other authors this source has not been processed for the files. It can however, supply valuable supplementary information for anyone wishing to study the history of the region in detail.
