Abstract
This is a brief description of aspects of traditional Luguru religion, with particular focus on collectively-enforced norms and moralistic restrictions related to puberty/menarche, first pregnancy, childbirth, and sexual intercourse. The main concern of the discussion is to determine whether these customary practices can be of some help in trying to expand Christianity at the lineage and community levels.
