Abstract
Mr. Wilson has traced here the political system of Ngonde from the traditional period to the present day. The relationships between the political status of the Kuyungus, the territorial nobles, and the local chiefs, and the economic practices and religious beliefs of the Ngonde people are carefully delineated. The impact of British rule upon the development of the native political and judicial institutions is succinctly described in the concluding part of this monograph.
