Abstract
This source is an analysis of regulations governing herds and flocks of animals as property and the interrelationship of these with the kinship system among the Jie of Uganda and the Turkana of Kenya. Information on the Jie contained in the pages of this source that have been processed have been filed in Categories 17 and 171. The topics discussed with regard to the Turkana include the ecology of Turkanaland, animal husbandry, the nuclear family and property, the extended family and property, stock association relationships between kin and bond-friends, and marriage and bridewealth.
