Abstract
This study discusses adolescent fertility and marriage patterns in Ngecha village, Kenya. Comparing data from 1950 with that of 1980, the study shows substantial increases in rate of unwed motherhood. The author accounts this increase to broad cultural changes relating to socialization, adolescent sexual behavior and mate selection.
