Abstract
This document presents a detailed analysis of Gusii kinship, the ways in which the Gusii use kinship terms, and the manner in which they extend classificatory terms thoughout the clan. The author's stated aim in this work is: '…to clarify a model of kinship relation, per se, as distinct from relations by clanship or anything else, and accordingly a model of 'kinship classification', 'kinship categories', and 'kinship behaviour', which will accomodate Gusii data without any stretching or squeezing' (p. 1).
