By: Richards, Audrey I. (Audrey Isabel).

Abstract
This monograph presents a case-history of a Ganda village between the years 1892 and 1952. Richards concentrates on the changes in Ganda village structure and composition that resulted from the institution of a new land tenure system in 1900. Particularly interesting is the discussion on the relative influence of kinship and political ties on residence patterns and village formation. Included is a classification of Ganda villages according to their type of administration and their composition. The printing on some of the maps is illegible in the original.
